Western Colorado is a unique and special part of the state. The natural beauty and proximity to wonderful places for exploration and adventure make it a rare, and fun place to live!

Drive 2 1/2 hours west from Delta, Colorado and you will find yourself in the red rock country of Utah. A couple of hours south of Montrose will put you in the heart of Telluride. Ouray, with its natural hot springs and ice climbing, is even closer. To the east of the North Fork and Paonia, you can ski in Aspen or Snowmass, and swim in the hot springs of Glenwood Springs. Or, just head up to Powderhorn, where the locals around here ski. Its only an hour away, and it is excellent for all levels of skiers.

Backpack the great Divide, or mountain bike on hundreds of miles of single track located in nearby locations. Take a trip over Kebbler Pass to Crested Butte for a fabulous meal, and hike or ride to the waterfalls. River rafting abounds, with all the nearby rivers. Hunting is world class with an abundance of large and small game. Fly-fish on one of our many crystal clear rivers under sapphire blue skies.

Delta and Montrose counties have varied economies. Ranching, farming and mining are important and historic industries the counties have relied upon for over a hundred years. A growing agro-tourism industry has encouraged the newest agricultural endeavors, including vineyards, wineries, brewpubs and farm-to-table dinners.

Western Colorado is famous for its qualiy of life. Many articles in prestigous publications have espoused the virtues of this area. Forbes proclaimed the North Fork of Delta county the 'golden triangle' for its quality of life and beauty. Mother Earth News and Sunset magazine have featured the area for the same reasons. With many organic farms, orchards, free range beef, chickens and sheep, the quality of food is unsurpassed. Add a bottle of award-winning wine, and you have a feast!

Clean air, domestic water fed by springs and plenty of mountain snow- generated irrigation water have made this one of the last, great places to live. A place where there is space, good neighbors and a slower and more relaxed pace.

Our schools are unsurpassed in their excellence, and school sports and extra-curricular activities such as FFA keep young students busy and progressing towards successful and contented lives.

Give me call if you have any questions about Western Colorado real estate, schools, hospitals, medical care and business opportunites. I would love to answer your questions and to get to know you.
